The American Way

Ok, so Friday I went to the US embassy and I finally got my visa to live and work in New York for 3 years woooooooooooo!!! On part of the form I had to complete 'what was the name of my tribe' I was tempted but there is very little humor when trying to get into some one else's country. There was every man with his wife and dog trying to get in, I queued for over 2 hours to get through the front door, it was like an Alton towers ride.
Anyway, so I got through the queue and was on my final lap where you hand your delivery details over to reception desk for the return of your passport. I hand my details over to the women in question and she says (please bare in mind she only takes the address she doesn't ever see my case)
"So your going to be in a film then"
I know what she means, the girl should be called Sherlock, after all I did turn up in my wizbit costume NOT
I say "Film, what film?"
She stutters and says "oh your going to actually work there (fuck me), I thought you were going to be in a film!"
I can't completely blame her, I could however draw a list up of SSA's (short statured actors) who I would like to be dropped kicked over the nearest fence for the persistent portrayals of 'elves, gnomes and evil goblin type creatures. But these people know me and where I live.
But if your reading this, and you people know who you are, stop it for the love of god you look stupid. Oh and if you have a spare 'santa's little helper' outfit, I would like to borrow it for my first day at work in New York!

Hey congratulations! I know it's increasingly a pain in the arse to get the papers in order to come here. (resisting my own urge to blurt and *why* want to come *in*, *now?* and my own constant offer to mail-order-bride myself to some nice E.U. (in the appropriate countries) or Canadian girl, stamps included...)

no, i do get it, i have friends from Over There who still want to be here even though they hate the current political climate at least as much as the rest of us
